British Council offers English courses for Easter holidays

Fun and interactive English learning experience

Register on or before 13 March 2016 to enjoy a 10% discount

This Easter, the British Council is introducing Spring Intensive Courses for students to learn English through a range of themes about nature, film, travel and more. Taught by British Council’s teachers with native speaker proficiency, these fun and interactive courses are tailored for students spanning kindergarten to secondary levels and aim to improve their all-round English skills and practical skills for exams.

Among the eleven courses offered, eight are newly launched this spring. The ‘Easter Fun’ course and ‘Down by the Cool of the pool’ course provide an opportunity to kindergarten students to learn English speaking, reading and listening skills through interactive activities such as craft-making, singing and storytelling. Courses for primary and secondary students are designed to enhance their language skills and to develop their problem-solving ability and creativity. For example, primary five to six students can attend the ‘At the Museum’ course to sharpen their comprehension skills and develop their creativity when planning and writing shadow plays. The ‘Film Buffs’ course is specially designed for secondary one and two students: they will develop reading and listening comprehension skills and present their favourite films to their classmates. They will also create film posters using expressive adjectives.

Other Spring Intensive courses include: ‘Skip into Spring’ for kindergarten two students, and ‘Create Your Own Home’, ‘My Room’, ‘Fascinating Nature’, ‘Solve it’ and ‘Let’s Explore’ for primary students. ‘The Benefits of Travel’ is available for secondary three to four students.

Spring Intensive Courses

Spring Intensive Courses will be held on 29 – 31 March 2016 at the British Council Admiralty English Language Centre. The courses are open for registration now. An early bird discount of 10% will be offered to students who register on or before 13 March 2016.  For details, please visit www.britishcouncil.hk/en/english/courses-holiday

(2)   About the British Council

The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. We create international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and build trust between them worldwide.

We work in more than 100 countries and our 8,000 staff – including 2,000 teachers – work with thousands of professionals and policy makers and millions of young people every year by teaching English, sharing the arts and delivering education and society programmes. In Hong Kong, we have been doing this since 1948, giving people opportunities to learn, share and connect worldwide.

We are a UK charity governed by Royal Charter. A core publicly-funded grant provides 20 per cent of our turnover which last year was £864 million. The rest of our revenues are earned from services which customers around the world pay for, such as English classes and taking UK examinations, and also through education and development contracts and from partnerships with public and private organisations. All our work is in pursuit of our charitable purpose and supports prosperity and security for the UK and globally.
