Minister for Health and Family Welfare U.T. Khader said here on Sunday that the State government will open an AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) college one year from now.
It is liable to come up in Shimoga yet the venue may transform, he told presspersons.
Mr. Khader said that it needed no less than 100 sections of land for the college and the legislature may get the area in Shimoga.
Notwithstanding scholastic exercises, the college would lead innovative work.
Mr. Khader said that the administration has started issuing bio-metric cards to AYUSH specialists in the State. It would help in recognizing them and keeping without end quacks.
He said that unless Ayurveda specialists quit recommending allopathy pharmaceuticals, ayurveda would not develop. “Ayurveda specialists ought to practice Ayurveda just,” he said.
Biting tobacco boycott
He repeated that the Health Department has chosen to boycott biting tobacco as the World Health Organization has cautioned that India was rising as the capital of oral tumor. A proposal was pending before the administration. It was yet to be set before the Cabinet for its choice.
Boss Minister Siddaramaiah would take a definite conclusion. “It might be a matter of time. It might be actualized soon,” he said.
The Minister said that the Health Department has chosen to boycott offer of detached cigarettes. Rather, it has suggested that the administration issue on request for offering just pressed cigarettes. As stuffed cigarettes were excessive, it may dishearten youth to buy them.
He repeated that there was no proposal to boycott arecanut or arecanut items.
