Senior understudies from undergrad programs at Qatar University’s College of Engineering exhibited their tasks in the Senior Design Contest on June 18 before a board of judges from top organizations in Qatar.
Understudy groups from Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Systems, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Architecture and Urban Planning showed creative activities on themes extending from street wellbeing to rest issue, m-learning, force frameworks solidness, and numerous others.
The event which was sponsored by QAPCO, Dolphin Energy, QChem and OXY Qatar, was attended by CENG Dean Dr Rashid Alammari, Associate Dean for Research and Post-graduate Programs Prof Abdelmagid Hammuda, QAPCO Senior Development Officer Mr Abdulrahman Sultan Al Darwish, Qchem Training and Development Superintendent Mr Robin Ullrich, department heads, faculty, and family members.
Musab Almozieon, Mohammad Ebrahem, and Yousif Walid Elhdari won in the mechanical engineering category with Ahmed Rafiq Sammour and Mahmoud Jama Mahmoud placing second, followed by Abdullah Mohd Alnouss, Ahmed Rabie Sakr, and Ahmed Emad Abdelmaged in third place.
First-place winners in the chemical engineering category were Alreem Algaal, Noura Dowass, and Fatemeh Khodadady, followed by Kousar Bastin Takhti, Elham Salih, and Maryam Al Abdulla in second place and Ruba Ali, Waad Derar, Nur Elmasri, and Samah Mohamed in third place.
Winning first place in the industrial engineering category were Fatma Ahmad Fakhroo, Rawda Majid Al-Ali, and Alanood Hussain Al-Obaidly; 2nd Mohamad Oumer, and Sara Shaukri Elthlatiny and 3rd Qablawi, and Fae Sabeeh Alowas.
The electrical engineering category produced winners Ayat Al-aswad and Nada Hussein with Ihab Jehad Aljayyousi, Ebrahim Saleh Alagi and Saad Abdeati Elasad in second place and Ali Thaer Abed, Emad Zeyad Abou-Deiah, and Ahmad Mahmoud Alshiekh in third place.

Winners in architecture and urban planning were Hanida Janahi (1st Basma Abou Kalloub (3rd Civil engineering winners were Abdulaziz Al-Qahoumi and Rashid Al-Zeyarra, followed by Ahmed Ibrahim Khodier, Hassan Ahmed Hamad, and Md. Hasibur Rahman (2nd Ahmed Al-Tweel, Mohammed Salah Salem, and Anas Nasir Fahmi (3rd In computer science, the winning teams were Nour Abdelmajid Musa, and Waed Adel Hakouz ); Amena Abulqashem Jabalhoque, Rana Noureddin Daas, and Salwa Mohammed Talebi (1st ) and Asma Amin Alkakouri, Asma Fuad Al-Dahshan, and Hajer Almouldi Mzoughi (3rd (2nd while in computer engineering, Amna Khalid Al-Kaabi, Latefa Talal Al-Naimi, and Mariam Ali Ba Hameish placed first, followed by Abdelrahman Mossad Shouman, Mohamed Ahmed El Khamisy, and Nazar Salim Salim (2nd Jamal, and Peter Ezzat Azer (3rd Dr Alammari congratulated the winners and praised the creativity and innovative spirit reflected in the projects, saying, “This is a clear demonstration of the quality of the academic and research environment at the College”. In thanking the sponsors, he said, “We are proud to see how relations between CENG and industry continue to develop day by day, and are reaching new areas of communication, cooperation, and partnership”.
