UNIT4, the global leader in software that supports business change, announced today that it is a SILVER Conference Sponsor and Gala Dinner and Drinks Reception Sponsor at ARMA 2014 Conference in the UK. The company will also be displaying its leading research management solutions at Stand 4 in the Hilton Hotel Conference Centre in Blackpool from 9th – 11th June.

The ARMA Conference promotes excellence in research management and administration by sharing best practice through a mix of workshops, plenary sessions, networking opportunities and social events.

The Association of Research Managers & Administrators (ARMA) is the professional association for research managers and administrators in the UK. It aims to enhance the profession of research management and administration, and to facilitate excellence in research through identifying, establishing and exchanging good practice in research management and administration.

“Research organisations face increasing administration from snowballing regulations, globalisation and large, collaborative projects,” said Anwen Robinson, Managing Director of UNIT4 Business Software Ltd. “ARMA is an important event for UNIT4 to showcase research management solutions that simplify this complexity – so that rather than focussing on administration, highly skilled employees can focus on delivering world-class research .”

UNIT4 develops education management solutions and services under the UNIT4 Campus brand, that enable institutions and research organisations to embrace change independently and sustainably so they can become more flexible, efficient, and innovative. Agresso Research Costing and Pricing is a comprehensive costing, pricing and approval solution that enables the production of accurate cost estimations and agreement on appropriate prices for grant applications for even the largest, most diverse or fast-changing national and international establishments. It was developed in partnership with the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge and has sold rapidly since its launch. UNIT4 provides software solutions to more than 400 Education and Research institutions worldwide, making it a leading supplier to the sector with significant ambitions.

In a recent Educause article the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge wrote “UNIT4 Agresso Research Costing and Pricing in itself will not change the world — it’s an administrative solution, after all — but it is freeing up the time of our highly skilled staff, who sometimes can.”

In the last few months alone, UNIT4 has announced a contract with Monash University, the largest in Australia, to manage more than $300 million in annual research grants as it aims to fulfil global research ambitions, a US$1.5 million SaaS (software as a service) agreement with Robert Morris University in North America; and a contract with the University of Huddersfield in the UK as it seeks to increase research revenue by 50 per cent.

UNIT4 is also a key sponsor of the Australasian Research Management Society annual conference on September 17-19 at the National Convention Centre, Canberra. Leading figures from the global research industry will be attending to explore research and research management/administration topics.

From June 11-13 UNIT4 will attend the EUNIS 2014 Congress in Sweden as a platinum sponsor. This is the annual event of the European University Information Systems organization whose mission is to help member institutions develop their IT landscape by sharing experiences and working together.
