The IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law, on the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis campus, won two gold awards in the Hermes Creative Awards, the international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies.
University College at IUPUI also brought home gold, winning an award for its IUPUI University College News magazine. Published under the tagline of “Innovate, Inspire, Invigorate,” the publication was the college’s entry in the advertising/magazine category of the competition.
“The award validates our work — collaboration among students, faculty and staff in University College — in producing stories for this magazine,” said Harriet Bennett, University College executive director. “The competition was very tough, so winning this prestigious award means so much to so many people connected to IUPUI.”
The IU McKinney School of Law won a gold award for its entry in the publications/magazine category for the McKinney Lawyer Summer 2013 Alumni Magazine. The law school also won a gold award in the publications/annual report category for the McKinney Lawyer Winter 2013-14 alumni magazine/dean’s report.
“We are proud of the efforts of our Office of External Affairs and its continued success in being recognized, nationally, for outstanding publications,” said IU McKinney Dean Andrew R. Klein.
The Hermes competition has grown to one of the largest of its kind in the world. Award winners range in size from individual communicators to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies
The competition is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The international association consists of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production, Web and freelance professionals.
It was previously announced that the IUPUI Office of Undergraduate Admission won five Hermes awards: two platinum and three gold.
