The list was published by the rating agency “Expert RA”. It included 153 high schools, Belarusian State University (BSU) took the second place. University bypassed major universities in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan. The Lomonosov Moscow State University became the leader.
BSU is not surprised, because for many years it has been consistently in the top three. Every year the University participates in at least 11 international rankings. The last ranking among the CIS and Baltic countries was made in December. The main high school in our country also “took” silver there.
This time the University bypassed the major universities in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan. The leader is Lomonosov Moscow State University. It is the only winner from the entire list with the assessment “extremely high”, describing the level of training of graduates.
The main trend of the higher school in the CIS was the transition to a two-tier scheme “bachelor – master”, consistent with the principles of the Bologna process.
153 universities entered the ranking, which was made ??on the basis of statistics and surveys of target groups. More than five and a half thousand people participated in the survey: teachers, students, graduates and employers. .
All universities are divided into five classes rating from A to E, where A is an exceptionally high level of graduates, B is the class of our university – very high, and C, D and E reflect the high, acceptable and adequate levels of training respectively. Universities were evaluated according to three criteria.
Alexei Toustsik , vice-rector of BSU: “One of them is the learning environment and the quality of education, then comes popularity among employers. And the third position is the scientific work at the university. In this ranking the main emphasis is on learning processes which is 50 percent of quality, and 30 per cent is expert assessment of employers “.
As for a more global scale, among 30 000 higher education institutions that work in the world today, the Belarusian State University is in the top 600 best universities in the world.
