Syracuse University has announced increases for tuition, fees, room and board for the 2014-15 school year.
Tuition for full-time undergraduates will be $40,380, an increase of 3.6 percent. Undergraduate tuition for the current 2013-14 school year is $38,970. The 3.6 percentage increase is the same as last year’s and is SU’s lowest percentage tuition increase in 48 years, according to the university.
Room and board rates will increase by between 2.9 percent and 3 percent, depending on room and meal plan chosen. SU-funded financial aid to undergraduate students will also increase, to $222 million, a 3.7 percent increase over 2013-14.
The tuition-setting process began in the fall of 2013, prior to Chancellor Kent Syverud assuming office. Syverud has indicated that next year he will engage and consult with SU student leaders throughout the tuition-setting process.
