The University of Notre Dame MBA at the Mendoza College of Business ranked No. 23 among top U.S. business schools on the just-released U.S. News & World Report’s “2015 Best Graduate Schools” survey, rising four spots from the program’s 2013 ranking.
“We certainly welcome the news that our ranking has improved,” said Roger D. Huang, Martin J. Gillen Dean and Kenneth R. Meyer Professor of Global Investment Management at the Mendoza College. “But as with all rankings, this serves as an opportunity to thank our MBA staff, faculty, alumni and students, whose continued dedication to excellence is responsible for setting our program apart.”
The report also contained MBA program specialty ratings based on surveys of business school deans and MBA program directors. Notre Dame was ranked No. 12 in the accounting specialty.
“During the economic downturn, we had Notre Dame alumni calling our career services department, asking how they could help,” said Mary Goss, senior director of the Notre Dame MBA program. “We daily see evidence of the strength of our alumni network and its commitment to helping students succeed. Rising to the top 25 schools in the nation is a definite reflection of alumni support, as well as the efforts of our staff and faculty.”
U.S. News surveyed 453 master’s programs in business accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business; of the 385 responding, 127 provided the data needed to calculate rankings based on a weighted average of eight indicators. The indicators included the publication’s survey of business school deans, MBA directors and corporate recruiters; starting salaries and bonuses; employment rates at and three months after graduation; and student selectivity as evidenced by GMAT scores, undergraduate GPAs and the percentage of applicants who are accepted by the school.

The Notre Dame MBA, which offers one- and two-year formats, is noted for its innovative teaching in the area of problem solving and for its emphasis on personal and corporate ethics as well as social responsibility. The program features action-learning and immersions in Asia and Latin America.
