Cooperation protocol signed between Ministry of Communication, Alexandria University

Minister of Communication and Information Technology Atef Helmy signed a new protocol with Chairman of Alexandria University Dr Osama Ibrahim regarding the use of an information technology system in the university’s hospitals to provide better healthcare services.

The protocol includes the implementation of different projects, including the  construction of a network of technological infrastructure and installation of servers and computers needed for information system in hospitals to operate.

An information system programme for hospital management is also featured in the protocol. The programme includes a management system for medical files for patients attending hospitals, a pharmaceutical management system, labs and radiology as well as a human resources management system, which involves personnel affairs and salaries.

The projects in the protocol are a part of electronic transformation strategy, which aims at improving governmental healthcare services provided to citizens.

Helmy announced that the protocol will “sustain the healthcare services system” in the university’s hospitals using information technology, in addition to facilitating citizens’ access to free medical care services.

The protocol will offer different job opportunities for youth in different technological sectors. It is also an opportunity for companies specialised in this field to take part in the different projects provided.
