Gulf universities meet in Manama


GCC Universities presidents, members of the sub-committee concerned with the establishment of the Union of GCC Universities, to convene in Manama.

President of the University of Bahrain (UoB) Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi, welcomed the GCC universities presidents, calling the meeting as an interpretation of the GCC leaders’ enthusiasm for achieving the unity of the Gulf countries and institutions.

He said the meeting will review the systems of the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW) and Association of Arab Universities (AAU), and also will discuss the draft prepared by the UoB regarding the proposal of establishing the union of the GCC universities and institutions of higher education.

He expressed pride in hosting this important meeting by the UoB to face the challenges encountering the Gulf universities and higher education institutions.

The Gulf universities looking forward to promote and coordinate efforts aim to set up a Gulf citizen capable of assuming responsibilities, maintaining national unity and serving the homeland.
