Dr Rawya bint Saud al Busaidiya, Minister of Higher Education, received Dr Daniel Papp, President of Kennesaw State University in the United States of America.
The meeting discussed aspects of the joint cooperation between the ministry and the university. The guest touched on the role of the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Centre in Washington and its activities, as well as the activities of Kennesaw State University in the Arab world.
The meeting was attended by Dr Eman bint Said al Busaidiyah, Deputy Executive Director of Sultan Qaboos Cultural Centre, Fatin Hani, Director of Oman University’s Project Office, Sheikha al Busaidiyah from the International Cooperation Department at the ministry and a number of officials from Kennesaw State University.
Meanwhile, Dr Amir bin Ali al Rowas, Vice-Chancellor of the Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) for Higher Studies and Scientific Research, also received Dr Daniel Papp and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed means of enhancing cooperation between the two sides in the educational areas, particularly in terms of supervising on higher education students and training teachers in universities, as well as training in the field of nursing, students exchange and scientific research.
Dr Papp presented an invitation to take part in a conference on role of the woman in the Sultanate, due to be held in Kennesaw State University. Dr Amir also received President of the University of Kassel in Germany and his accompanying delegation.
The visit comes to avail channels for the scientific and knowledge communication between SQU and the University of Kassel. The two sides discussed means of enhancing cooperation in the field of student exchange and conducting joint research.
