Extended University offers several non-credit professional development courses in February, including QuickBooks, Dreamweaver, Excel and more.
QuickBooks Intermediate begins Feb. 3 and runs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings through Feb. 12. The course allows QuickBooks users to take their basic skills to the next level. The class covers how to deal with physical inventory, use QuickBooks for payroll, work with job estimates and time tracking, balance sheet accounts and budgets and correcting and customizing in QuickBooks and more.
The course is $199 and the instructor is Elizabeth Linsky. A QuickBooks Basic course for beginners will be held later in February.
Dreamweaver Basic begins on Feb. 3 and runs Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The course is a hands-on introduction to the Dreamweaver Web management software and covers how to plan and define a Web site, create pages, format text, and define structural elements. Students will also learn to create and apply CSS style rules, as well as modify tables, images, and links. The course also covers how to test and manage Web site files and publish a site. It is $139 and the instructor is Connie Campbell.
A basic course in Adobe InDesign CS6 begins Feb. 6 and includes 12 hours of interactive training from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The course costs $139 and is taught by David Ashcraft. The course helps students dive into the world of graphic design, by learning the basic features of InDesign CS6. Students will learn how to create documents, place text and graphics, create custom color swatches, work with master pages and multi-page documents, as well as many other topics.
21 Excel Tips and Tricks is one of EU’s most popular courses. The three-hour session on Feb. 13 helps people who use Excel explore new –and often unknown—features and shortcuts. The course is $59 and is taught by Connie Campbell.
Photoshop Basic begins Feb. 17. The class covers Photoshop layers, effects, text and more, and includes training on how to adjust, retouch and resize images. The sessions run on five evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and include hands-on instruction.
Many of the courses offer discounts for members of the Downtown Bozeman Association, the Prospera Business Network and the Chambers of Commerce in Livingston and Big Sky.
