USQ Women’s development scholarships are available for postgraduate students in Australia. The students of Australia can apply for this scholarship. The scholarships are paid directly to the recipients USQ student account as a contribution toward their tuition fees.
About Scholarship: This initiative by the Status of Women in Employment & Education Committee, in conjunction with the USQ Women’s Development Program, aims to assist specific under-represented groups of female Postgraduate Scholarships to enhance their career potential and increase retention.

Eligibility: To be eligible applicants must:
-be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status
-be enrolled in a USQ postgraduate coursework program
-be a continuing student
-be enrolled at Toowoomba, Springfield or Fraser Coast Campus
-be enrolled in up to 4 study units in Semester One/Semester Two
-be studying on-campus, external or online.
Scholarship Open for: The students of Australia can apply for this scholarship.
Number of awards: USQ will award two USQ Women’s Development Postgraduate Scholarships.
Value: Each scholarship will have a maximum value of $1,500. The Scholarship is paid directly to the recipients USQ student account as a contribution toward their tuition fees.
Selection criteria: Applicants must meet some of the following criteria:
-those experiencing financial hardship eg
-single parent with part-time employment/low income
-job loss or potential loss of farm
-personal circumstances eg
-first in family to study at a postgraduate level and little support for her initiative
-victim of domestic violence
-students with a disability or medical condition
-rural and regional students
-those from Non-English Speaking Backgrounds (NESB)
-students enrolled in non-traditional areas of study, based on gender
Applicants must submit a personal statement indicating:
-confirmation of progress of dissertation or study
-a description of their career aims and goals
-provide evidence of academic achievement
-provide current curriculum vitae
-have a sound level of academic achievement
-if a USQ Staff member, provide a Memo of Support from their Head of School or Department to undertake study.
