The Department of Occupational Therapy at Dominican University of California is accepting seniors age 60 and older into its free healthy seniors program.
The eight-week health and wellness program, which runs Feb. 21 through April 18, will be held every Thursday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. at Meadowlands Hall on the Dominican campus. A morning program will also take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Redwoods Retirement Community in Mill Valley.
Under the supervision of faculty member Susan LeBlanc, senior citizens will learn to maintain healthy lifestyles, explore technological devices and manage daily living with chronic physical conditions. Other issues that may be addressed include fall prevention, home safety, nutrition and community mobility.
