About Centre For DIGITAL Media
Located in Vancouver, Canada the new Centre for Digital Media offers the Masters of Digital Media, full- and part-time programs leading to a professional digital media degree (MDM). The programs feature an identical, cohort-based curriculum that focuses on real-time, industry-facing collaborative projects.
The Centre for Digital Media and its students, faculty and staff take an interdisciplinary approach to Digital Media. Since opening our doors in 2007, more than 100 talented students have graduated from the CDM and have gone on to work for large, well-recognized digital media firms. Also, due to the entrepreneurial spirit of the school, numerous successful start-ups have been formed by former students.
The MDM is conferred by The University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, Emily Carr University of Art + Design, and the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Each of the Centre for Digital Media’s partners brings unique insight to the program and value to our students. MDM grads are alumni of all four institutions.

“Everyday I use some skill or tool I learned while at MDM. The most important ones were those that I learned on the group projects while creating real products for companies like Ubisoft. I feel confident enough to become a key member on any team, prepared for the difficulties of executing real products in live platforms like Facebook.” – Jennifer Dowding, CDM Alumni, Associate Producer, Playdom
“I came to the Centre for Digital Media right after an undergraduate degree in Digital Media. With an undergrad in Digital Media, I had a lot of different options for doing my masters, such as art, design, computer science, business and many other programs as well. I chose the Masters of Digital Media Program at the CDM because I am a big advocate of multidisciplinary learning, cross-pollinated teams and learning by doing. This is what CDM stands for. I am very passionate about innovative teaching approaches that generate open-minded and critical thinkers who are able to find and understand problems. With a small number of students, a project-based education and the needed resources and space to think, the CDM offered me the perfect environment for the education I was looking for.” – Martin Schueller, MDM Student
