University gets the ABET accreditation in engineering programmes

Al Hosn University has become the first private university in Abu Dhabi to get accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) for its Civil Engineering programme, and the first in the UAE to be ABET-certified for its Industrial and Software Engineering programmes.

“We met the ten criterion for the accreditation which ensures that we are in line with international teaching standards. This accreditation opens the doors for our students to enrol in prestigious universities abroad to pursue postgraduate studies,” said Dr Abdul Rahim Sabouni, Vice Chancellor and CEO of Al Hosn University.

Al Hosn University has around 700 students enrolled in seven engineering programmes, out of a total of around 1,700. The university also offers master degrees in Building Engineering and Engineering Management.

Every year, the university offers ten scholarships to female students to encourage them to enrol in engineering programmes. (Gulf News)
