The new name was launched last week at AUT Business School by the Institute’s new Director Professor Tim Bentley. The announcement followed the first public lecture of the Institute’s new Wellbeing and Performance Research Group, led by Professor Stephen Teo.
The New Zealand Work Research Institute includes over 30 academics from AUT Faculty of Business and Law who focus on employment, human resource management, business and labour history, and occupational health and safety research – including issues such as workforce participation and employee involvement, workforce sustainability and employee wellbeing, workplace productivity and performance, organisation and employee diversity.
A key feature of the Institute is its network of engagements with industry, government and labour organisations, enabling them to respond to the research needs of key stakeholders and to provide research that addresses key work and employment issues. They also work closely with academics, researchers, practitioners, advisors and policy makers around New Zealand and overseas.
