Eligibility: The applicant must:
- Hold a PhD degree or equivalent, which has been awarded within 10 years of submitting the grant application. An extension to this limit may be approved in the case of significant career interruptions
- Be an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident, living in Australia and be employed as a scientist/faculty member with a recognised Australian university/academic institute or a Commonwealth Research Entity, at the time of submitting the grant application (if you were not born in Australia, please provide proof of Australian citizenship or Australian permanent residency)
Scholarship Open for International Students: No
Scholarship Description: Applicants should propose a collaborative research project or a specific activity that has been developed in consultation with the host organisation in India. Proposals will be assessed on the scientific merit of the research (including the value of collaboration with India), the demonstrated achievements of the applicant in the context of his/her career to date, the leading edge research capacity of the proposed host researcher and institution and the value of the expected outcome of the research project to Australian science. A letter of invitation from the host institution(s) commenting on the proposed collaboration and including an undertaking that all research in which the visiting fellow is engaged will be conducted in accordance with relevant laws, codes and regulations must be submitted with the application.
