Jordan university unveils plans to set up college

Jordan’s Talal Abu Ghazaleh University College of Business (TAGUCB) is planning to launch a state-of-the-art college offering undergraduate business programmes in international accounting, management and logistics in Bahrain.

The programmes, accredited by Bahrain’s Higher Education Council, will lead to granting the degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, said college chairman Dr Talal Abu-Ghazaleh.

“We are looking forward to providing high quality education to the students in the Gulf region and expect our students to benefit from our state-of-the-art programmes that will allow them to contribute to the economic development of the region,” he said.

The college is set to be launched in September and president Dr Abdulwaheed Khan said TAGUCB would be seeking the approval of the Higher Education Council to introduce an MBA programme next year.

Transportation Minister and Economic Development Board acting chief executive Kamal Ahmed said the move reflected Bahrain’s commitment to establishing itself as a leading platform for education opportunities in the region.
