Pakistan: MoU inked between TDCP, universities


A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP) and Inter University consortium for the promotion of social sciences, art and humanities.

Professor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar, vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur led the consortium of eight Universities of Pakistan while MD, TDCP; Saad Khan represented his department in the signing ceremony.

The following Higher Education Institutes were agreed to form a consortium for the promotion of social sciences, arts and humanities, including Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad, University of Gujrat, Government College University Faisalabad, Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur, University of Baluchistan Quetta, Institute of Managements Sciences Peshawar, Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan, and The Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

Chairman of the consortium Dr Mukhtar speaking on the occasion said the consortium would cooperate in a number of programmes including, faculty development/exchange as adjunct faculty members, exchange of students & scholars joint research projects.

The terms of such mutual assistance and cooperation shall be discussed and agreed upon by the responsible authority of each university prior to the initiation of any particular programme or activity. This agreement shall take effect upon the approval of all parties and shall remain in effect for an initial period of five years.

Vice Chancellors of all universities concerned were present during MOU signing ceremony.
