The move is designed to support nursing education and the pursuit of academic studies in the continuum. “This is a first in Ottawa and it is expected that within the next few years, there are many other scholarships available to our students. As mentioned earlier, ORIIO gave $ 8,700 for financial assistance to registered nurses in the territory of the Outaouais region, among the students of the programs DEC-BAC and those with bachelor’s degree in nursing.
n addition, a second cycle student at the University of Montreal and nurse at the CSSS de Gatineau, Nancy Wade, also received a grant from the Heritage Fund of the OIIQ. The ORIIO awarded him a grant of $ 10 000 dedicated to the prevention and control of infections. This serves primarily to support the deployment in clinical settings for the nurse.
Created in 2006 by a contribution of nurses in Quebec, the Heritage Fund is to promote the OIIQ further education and access for all members to continuing education. This is the first year that pays OIIQ many scholarships to its students.
